HBOT: An Anti-Aging Tool

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) delivered on a long-term basis could either slow the aging process or reverse some of the changes involved in aging. HBOT has profound effects on DNA, nitric oxide production and vessel dilation, blood flow and the metabolism, which have amazing benefits to the ever aging body:

HBOT can improve skin elasticity and health by increasing collagen density, elastic fiber health, and the number of blood vessels.
‘Out of study of 70 participants in the normal aging population, thirteen male patients (age 68.07±2.5y) gave consent for repeated skin biopsies. Following HBOT, there was a significant increase in collagen density, elastic fiber length, and the number of blood vessels.’

HBOT can restore brain function in individuals with reduced neurological capabilities (confusion, forgetfulness, agitation, dizziness, etc.) and neurological diseases (Dementia, Parkinson’s, etc.).
‘A 70-year-old female noticed periods of confusion, forgetfulness, agitation and reached the point where she was unable to drive her car or live alone. The SPECT scan showed that the patient had hypoperfusion in the frontal and temporal lobes. She was given initial treatment with Hyperbaric Oxygen (3 treatments) and the scan was repeated. The changes in perfusion were striking. She then received a total of 33 treatments. After 20 treatments, the patient returned to a perfectly normal lifestyle, able not only to drive her car, tend her affairs, but also return to her passion, the pulpit.’

HBOT has been shown to induce hair growth and cause sexual regeneration through the process of angiogenesis and its ability to increase nitric oxide.

‘One man, who accompanied his son in the hyperbaric chamber, brought pictures to show me that he grew hair where he had been bald for some time. This man had untreated sleep apnea and repeated exposure to hyperbaric oxygen stimulated the scalp and thus new hair growth.’
